An 8 tonne Gantry Crane was installed to handle the wheel setsThe project involved the design and construction of a new extension to the REW Fatory for LUL. REW refurbish Train wheel sets and the covered wheel area was designed for storing and handling wheelsets as they came off production.

An 8 tonne Gantry Crane was installed to handle the wheel sets. A particular challenge was the main to maintain operations and avoid disruption to the REW’s operations. The foundations where designed and constructed in an area where there was a high concentration of services and HV cables below ground.
